Finn Juhl

Spade Chair, Rosewood

Spade Chair, Rosewood

Designed in 1954 the Model 133 ‘Spadestolen’ was Finn Juhl's first collaboration with Danish producer France & Son. The frame was originally made in teak with loose foam cushions, sprung back and ‘knock-down’ construction for easier export. This later version was produced in limited quantities post-1960 in the highest quality rosewood. The seat on this version is fixed, fully covered and cantilevered, offering a greater level of comfort and support. The frame is marked by the maker and the seat has been reupholstered by premium aniline leather.
